This is an idea that trivializes Irish history and culture. As a person of 100 percent Irish heritage, I can tell you about lucky charms--potato famine/British Corn Laws--young people being forced to emigrate to make a living--British occupation--Black and Tan terror---a long and bloody fight for independence. Lucky charms don't work. Look up the real definition of "luck of the Irish."
