Seekonk Veterans Memorial Park

I am writing to you with great frustration and disappointment with the Board of Trustees of the Library.  They have stated through their Chairman that they will not allow the Veterans Memorial Park to be built on a small patch of land adjacent to the Library itself.  What is disturbing to me is the reason given.  "What if" the Library wants to expand? "What if"????

Further they've stated that their decision is considered pro-library and not anti-veteran.  That is an insult to every veteran that has served our nation.  Not allowing this beautiful tribute to be built in the most visible and most perfect spot is nothing more than selfish.

If the truth be told this is nothing more than an attempt to salvage parking spaces for whatever entertainment business the Library plans.  Overflow parking. That's it. Expansion is merely an excuse.

With the "expansion" of the internet, ipads, iphones and the many new technologies for gathering information one might argue the Library may become antiquated or at least redefined.

Clearly people need to see the Veteran's Memorial Park as a need for remembering, preserving and honoring those who gave of their time, space and lives UNSELFISHLY!!!!!

Support the Park now by contacting the Trustees and tell them they are wrong in so many ways.  Thank you and please consider my comments Pro-Veterans not Anti-Library.
